About Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya (JPV)

Jai Prakash Vishwavidyala (University) was established on 22.11.90 by the enactment of Section 3(b) of Bihar State Universities Act, 1976 with its Head Quarters at Chapra, after Carving it out from the then, Bihar University (now B.R.A. Bihar University) Muzaffarpur. The territorial jurisdiction of the University is stretched over the whole of Saran Division Comprising three districts of Chapra, Siwan and Gopalganj. The Colleges situated in these districts were automatically transferred to Jai Prakash University, Chapra. There are altogether 21 constitute Colleges, 11 affiliated colleges in which 2 are deficit Grant Colleges (including one minority college). There are 17 proposed Colleges of which 3 are professional colleges.

Jai Prakash Vishwavidyala (JPV) UG Courses Admission 2019

Three-Year Degree Programs are offered in the disciplines of Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, and Commerce. The admission in the corresponding courses is open to those Students only who have successfully cleared the Intermediate level examination. It is mandatory to clear the intermediate level exam with a score of at least 45 % in the related subjects to take admission in Honors level.

Three-Year Programs in Law (LLB): Minimum eligibility criteria for admission in LL.B. Part I program is, to have a graduation degree in any discipline with at least 40% of marks.

University offers BCA, BBA, BJMC, B. Lib. In Information Science, BA, B.Com, B.Sc., MA, M.Com, and M.Sc.

Postgraduate programs are offered in the following subjects: Humanities, Social Sciences, Science and Commerce with various specializations as Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Urdu, Philosophy, Political Science, Economics, History, Psychology, Geography, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and commerce.

The Students are allowed to fill the application form by online mode only there is no other format to apply for any course. For admission into Ph.D. programs the university conducts entrance test. The final selection of Aspirants in Ph.D. programs is made on the basis of merit in the entrance test.
